Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated History
Founded on January 13, 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was established by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need. The first public act performed by the Delta Founders involved their participation in the Women's Suffrage March (March 1913; Washington, D.C.). Delta Sigma Theta was incorporated in 1930, and the women of this organization have never strayed from the mission their founders created, which is now their legacy.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services and programs to promote human welfare.
LAMBDA ZETA CHAPTER HISTORY
In 2013 the Alpha Chapter went their separate ways. Their last line consisted of 3 very dedicated women. Of those 3 women Soror Delightful decided she wanted to continue on with the legacy and tradition of Delta Sigma Theta and decided to form her own chapter with her line sisters.
After many long nights and a lot of hard work and dedication Delta Sigma Theta Lambda Zeta Chapter was founded on June 13, 2013. In keeping with the legacy of distinction and excellence the 3 sisters set out to bring in more like minded sorors.
Lambda Zeta prides itself on upholding the ideals of Delta Sigma Theta by serving the IMVU community with the upmost dignity and class. Lambda Zeta strives for sisterhood, we strive to uphold and honor the efforts of our 22 distinguished founders. ΔΣΘ
